Chicago Bulls vs. Orlando Magic
Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls look for their ninth straight win as they host Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic. The Bulls are -7 point favorites over the Magic with an over/under point total set at 183.5.
The Bulls continue to pile up the wins as Derrick Rose hit the game winning shot to lift Chicago to a 106-104 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday for their league leading eighth straight win. Despite going 8-22 from the field, Rose finished with a game high 30 points and 11 assists to lead Chicago to their fourth straight victory over Milwaukee this season.
The Magic suffered their worst loss of the season in their last outing, falling to the league’s worst team in Charlotte 100-84 on Tuesday night, despite leading by as many as 20 points at one stage. As bad as the loss was, Orlando has bigger things on their mind as they enter a tough stretch of games which starts tonight and ends next Thursday before the trade deadline.
Head to head, the underdog is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Bulls are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, 39-19 ATS in their last 58 games following a ATS loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Magic on the other hand are 28-10-1 ATS in their last 39 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, but just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
This is a tough spot for Orlando to try and bounce back, however they have a couple of things going for them here. First off, they are coming off an embarrassing loss, so you know they will come out with some purpose tonight, plus the Bulls will be playing in a back to back and their fourth game in five nights. The Magic continually play down to their competition, as evidenced by their recent against the spread stats. However, the one that sticks out to me is that they are 28-10-1 ATS in their last 39 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points, meaning they bounce back from bad losses more often than not.
