Chicago Bulls vs. Indiana Pacers

Two red-hot teams battle it out at the United Center tonight as the Indiana Pacers pay a visit to the Chicago Bulls.  The Bulls are -7 point favorites over the Pacers with an over/under point total set at 186.

The Pacers have been taking full advantage of some soft opposition, winning their last six straight by an average of 15.8 points. Their latest triumph came at the expense of the lowly Hornets, as Danny Granger scored 20 points to lead six players in double digits in an easy 102-84 win. However, the easy wins may have to wait for a while as the Pacers face the Bulls tonight and won’t face another weak opponent until Mar 22. when they meet the Wizards.

Meanwhile, the Bulls have also won six straight and coming into this game after beating the 76ers by 96-91 last night. With the game on the line, the Bulls deferred to Derrick Rose who delivered down the stretch and finished with 35 points and eight assists. Scoring-wise, Rose didn’t receive a lot of help, but Joakim Noah was a beast on the boards, scoring 11 points and grabbing 18 rebounds, seven of which were on the offensive end.

Head to head, the Bulls have won 14 of the last 22 meetings, but the Pacers have won the last two, including a 95-90 win on Jan 25. In terms of the ATS stats, the Pacers hold the edge with a 5-2 ATS record in the last seven meetings overall.

Here we have two teams who haven’t lost in a while, but something’s got to give. It’s really hard to go against the Bulls in this one, but there’s just something about the Pacers that leads me to believe that this one is going to come down to the wire. Even though the Bulls played last night, I still like their chances to win here, but I’d prefer to take the Pacers with the points here.
