Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat
The Miami Heat looks to continue their dominance when they take on the Indiana Pacers. The Heat are -1.5 point favorites over the Pacers with an over/under point total set at 198.
The Heat equaled it’s best record through 29 games with another dominate performance on Monday night after rolling through the Milwaukee Bucks 114-96 at the Bradley Center. Since dropping the first of their six game road trip, Miami has now won three straight by an average of 18.3 points per game. The Pacers on the other hand have cooled off after their hot start to the season as they come into tonight’s game riding a season high three game losing streak.
Lebron James scored 33 points and the Heat pulled away in the second quarter to record a 118-83 victory over the visiting Pacers in their first meeting of the season in Miami. The Heat led by just two points at half time, but outscored the Pacers 33-12 in the second quarter to take a dominate lead into halftime, which proved to be to overcome. Roy Hibbert led Indiana with 16 points, while Chris Bosh added 22 for a Miami team that was without Dwayne Wade.
Head to head, the Heat are 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings, while the underdog is 22-8-1 ATS in the last 31 meetings and the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog, but just 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Heat on the other hand are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favourite and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
Indiana is catching Miami in a good spot here as this will be the Heat’s third game in as many nights. However, I don’t think it will matter the way both teams have been playing lately. Indiana is in a real funk as they have lost four of five, while the Heat have been demolishing teams on the road in the last week. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Pacers got up and won tonight, but I’m not prepared to go against the Heat until they give me a reason too.
