Houston Rockets vs. Portland Trailblazers

The Portland Trail Blazers look to bounce back as they host the Houston Rockets tonight.  The Trailblazers are -7 point favorites over the Rockets with an over/under point total set at 197.

The Trail Blazers suffered a rare road loss on Monday night as they fell to the league leading Oklahoma City Thunder in overtime 111-107 for just their second defeat at the Rose Garden this season. Portland was unlucky not to escape with the win on Monday as LaMarcus Aldridge, who scored a season high 39 points, was called for a goaltending on Kevin Durant after the replay showed it was a clean block.

The Rockets bounced back from their loss in Minnesota to defeat the short-handed Denver Nuggets 99-90 on Monday night to split the opening two games of their season high six game road trip. Luis Scola led the way with a game high 25 points, while Kyle Lowry added 20 of his own for a Houston team that is just 4-8 away from home this season.

Head to head, the Underdog is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Trail Blazers are 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5, 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss and 19-6-2 ATS in their last 27 home games. The Rockets on the other hand are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games, but just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5.

One unlucky loss isn’t going to stop me from picking the most dominate home team in the league here. Even without Raymond Felton, the Blazers should take care of a Houston team that quite frankly isn’t good on the road. Portland is still 10-1-1 against the spread in their last 12 games as a home favorite of 5-10 points, while Houston struggles as a road dog between 5-10 points. Look for the home team to come out swinging here
