Detroit Pistons vs. New Jersey Nets
The New Jersey Nets look for their fourth straight home win over the visiting Detroit Pistons. The Nets are -7.5 point favorites over the Pistons with an over/under point total set at 185.5.
After winning back to back games for the first time this season, the injury plagued Nets have dropped consecutive games to fall to 7-15 overall. Deron Williams has been doing all he can to lift New Jersey as they has averaged 29.8 points per game over his last four games, however the Nets just don’t have enough pieces to compete on a nightly basis. MarShon Brooks, Mehmet Okur and DeShawn Stevenson have now joined center Brooke Lopez on the sidelines.
Another game and another loss of the reeling Pistons. Detroit suffered their sixth straight loss on Tuesday night as they fell the previously struggling New York Knicks. Not only are the Pistons the worst offensive team in the league, but they haven’t been able to stop anyone lately as they giving up 103 points per game on 52% shooting during their six game skid.
Head to head, the favorite is 10-4-1 ATS in the last 15 meetings. The Nets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference, but just 3-12 ATS in their last 15 home games and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5. The Pistons on the other hand are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400, but just 4-17 ATS in their last 21 road games and 1-12 ATS in their last 13 games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5.
Man does this game stink. You would think New Jersey get the cover here, until you find out they are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 home games. If you thought that was bad, the Pistons are 4-17 ATS in their last 21 road games, good luck finding a winner there. How can you not take the under here? Detroit is the worst offensive team in the league as they haven’t scored over 86 points in any of their last three outings. The Nets on the other hand have some offensive weapons, but it seems like playing at home is a drag for them and they haven’t scored over 75 points in two of their last three at the Prudential Center. I like the under in this one.
