The San Diego Toreros look to pull a major upset as they host the Saint Mary’s Gaels on Thursday. The Gaels are -17.5 point favorites over the Toreros with an over/under point total set at 133.
The San Diego Toreros have dropped their last four games in a row including getting trounced by BYU by 36 in their WCC opener. Bill Grier has his work cut out for him this season as San Diego looks to over matched in a conference which has grown increasingly competitive. The Saint Mary’s Gaels are a borderline top 25 team and they should have a chance to play themselves into the national rankings. As a team Saint Mary’s is averaging 76.1 points, 17.2 assists, and they are shooting 47.4 percent while defensively they allow57.8 points and their opponents shoot 39.1 percent. While the West Coast Conference looks to be as competitive as it has ever been St. Mary’s looks to be the team to beat.
