New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks
The New York Knicks look to avoid their fifth straight loss when they host the visiting Milwaukee Bucks. The Knicks are -6 point favorites over the Bucks with an over/under point total set at 190.
The losses continue to pile up for the Knicks as they dropped their fourth straight game after their 91-88 home loss to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. The usually high scoring Knicks are finding it very difficult to put the ball in the basket recently, and their best offensive players are partly to blame. Against the Suns, Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire combined for 35 points on just 12-44 shooting for a New York team that hasn’t scored over 95 points since putting up 103 in a win over Detroit on the 7 th of January.
Winless away from home, the Bucks are off to their worst start of the road since losing their first 16 games since in the 1976-77 season. After their 94-82 defeat in Philadelphia on Monday night, the Bucks dropped to 0-8 away from the Bradley Center as they continue to struggle on the offensive end. Milwaukee ranks 23 third in the league in points per game with 91.8, however they have especially struggled in the New Year as they haven’t topped the 10 points mark in any of their last six games.
Head to head, the Bucks are 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings and 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings in New York, while the road team is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meeting and the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Knicks are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 home games and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Bucks on the other hand are 20-6-2 ATS in their last 28 road games vs. a team with a losing home record, but just 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall.
Against the spread, the Knicks are 1-9 in their last 10 home games, while the Bucks are 1-7 in their last 8 road games, so something has to give tonight. Funnily enough, these two teams find themselves in a similar situation to when they faced each other in the final meeting last season. The Knicks had just lost four in a row and seven of their last eight as they hosted Milwaukee as a seven point favorite. As it turns out, the Bucks came away with a 102-96 win to continue the Knicks down fall. I’m not saying the same will occur tonight, but Milwaukee have dominated New York in the past, so take the points.
