Golden St. Warriors vs. Indiana Pacers

The Golden State Warriors return home to face the visiting Indiana Pacers tonight.  The Pacers are -3 point favorites over the Warriors with an over/under point total set at 188.

The Warriors threw away a perfect chance to finish up their road trio with a 3-1 record as they fell the New Jersey Nets 107-100 on Wednesday night. Having just beaten Detroit and Cleveland, it looked as if the Warriors were heading for their third consecutive victory as they led the Nets for most of Wednesday nights game. However, New Jersey would go onto to outscore Golden State 27-17 in the final term to pickup their first home win of the season. With Steph Curry’s availability still uncertain, the Warriors now begin a stretch of 10 of 12 in the Bay Area.

The Pacers threw away a big lead of their own on Wednesday as they went down to the Sacramento Kings 92-88 to snap their three game winning streak. Leading by as many as 14 points, the Pacers struggled with the 2/3 zone that the Kings employed and they were held to eight last quarter points. Indiana shot just 2-16 from the field and committed nine fourth quarter turnovers, which seems to be a re-occurring theme of late. The Pacers have a 108-69 third period scoring edge over its last four opponents, but it has been outscored by 23 in the fourth quarter of those contests.

Head to head, the Pacers are 14-4 ATS in the last 18 meetings, while the home team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Warriors are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog, but just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games as a home underdog of 0.5-4.5. The Pacers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference.

Despite their injuries, the Warriors have been competitive at home this season, which is nothing new. The Pacers on the other hand did drop a game they shouldn’t have in Sacramento, but they have been solid for the most part this season. To be honest, I’m not really sure who wins this one, but the home team has won the past eight meetings between the two, so the Warriors have to fancy their chances. This one looks like it’s going down to the wire, so take the points in this one.
