Charlotte Bobcats vs. Golden St. Warriors
Two teams in desperate need of a win collide as the Charlotte Bobcats host the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are -2.5 point favorites over the Warriors with an over/under point total set at 188.5.
The struggles continue for the Bobcats who dropped their sixth straight game as they fell to the Detroit Pistons 98-81 on Friday night. After starting the season off on the right foot, Charlotte just can’t get anything going of late and they are really struggling on the offensive end, averaging just 79 points per game on 38% shooting in their last five game. After their blowout loss to the Pistons, owner Michael Jordon met with the team to express his disappointment in the loss and the way they had been playing lately.
The injury plagued Warriors couldn’t back up their impressive win over Miami as they fell to the Orlando Magic 117-109 on Thursday night to drop to 3-7 overall. With Kwame Brown and Dorell Wright joining Stephen Curry on the growing list of injuries, Golden State has won just the single game in January, however that was against the star studded Miami Heat earlier in the week in overtime. Monta Ellis and David Lee kept up their strong play against Orlando with 30 and 26 points respectively, however they are severely missing their other key contributors.
Head to head, the Warriors are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings, while the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Bobcats are 0-8-1 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Warriors on the other hand are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
For a time there I though the Bobcats might actually be semi decent, however I think they are all showing us what we expected them to look like this season. The Warriors on the other hand are just banged up and the moment and even that doesn’t stop them from being competitive at home, however it’s a different story on the road. If you ask me, this is a real coin toss game so I’m taking whatever points I can get.
