Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Texas A&M Aggies

The Texas A&M Aggies and the Arkansas Razorbacks both look to bounce back from disappointing losses in big games as they meet for an out of conference game at Dallas Cowboys Stadium.  The Aggies are -3 point favorites over the Razorbacks with an over/under point total set at 50.

The Texas A&M Aggies had high hopes this season and while there is still plenty of football left, it will be interesting to see how and if Mike Sherman’s team rebounds from last week’s home loss in a game they had well in hand at the half. QB Ryan Tannehill will need to bounce back after a sharp first half turned into some rough interceptions in the second half and for the season Tannehill has competed 67 percent of his passes for 892 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions. Ryan Swopes leads the Aggie receivers with 21 catches while Jeff Fuller has 17 and each have two TD catches. Cyrus Gray is Texas A&M’s leading rusher with 292 yards and four touchdowns and Christine Michael has 178 yards and two touchdowns. Sean Porter leads the Texas A&M defense with 23 tackles followed by Trent Hunter with 20 and Jonathan Stewart and Garrick Williams with 19. The Aggies have two interceptions, a fumble recovery, and a remarkable 14 sacks thus far this year.

The Arkansas Razorbacks figured to be rebuilding a bit this season but after Bobby Petrino’s team got off to a few wins hopes were high but the Hogs went into Tuscaloosa and were battered by Alabama sending their expectations crashing to Earth. Tyler Wilson has been solid at QB completing nearly 67 percent of his passes for 1007 yards with seven touchdowns and three interceptions. Joe Adams leads Arkansas with 21 receptions followed by Jarius Wright with 15 and Cobi Hamilton with 14. Ron Wingo Jr. Has filled in for Knile Davis who is lost for the season and Wingo has rushed for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Jerry Franklin leads the Razorbacks defense with 25 tackles while Alonzo Highsmith and Eric Bennett have 22 each. The Arkansas defense has five sacks, two interceptions, and has yet to recover a fumble.

Texas A&M is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games overall, 1-4 against the spread following a game which they didn’t cover, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five non-conference games. Arkansas is 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games against the Big 12, 11-4 against the spread in their last 15 games overall, and 12-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record.

Arkansas is in more of a rebuilding mode and while Texas A&M isn’t exactly a National Champion caliber team, they are a mature team that has the edge here.  Take the Aggies minus the 3 here.
