New Orleans Saints vs. Tennessee Titans

With a week to go before their regular season opener against the Green Bay Packers, the New Orleans Saints take on the Tennessee Titans for a week four NFL preseason game.  The Saints are -3 point favorites over the Titans with an over/under point total set at 37.5.

Week four of the NFL preseason is generally when the head coaches rest the starters and get a final look at the backups and players battling to make the roster before the final cuts are made; look for this one to be no different. Because of the nature of these games these picks are just leans and hunches on how these games should play out and there will be no premium picks on NFL games this season:

The New Orleans Saints face a monster opener in the season opening Thursday Night game and look for the starters attention to be focused there as Drew Brees and company will be watching this one from the sidelines. Sean Payton has already made it clear that he has some tough decisions to make as far as the final cuts and more than likely he will at least give some of those decisions a chance to play out on the field. Chase Daniel has run the offense nicely but we’ll probably see more Sean Canfield here with players like Patrick Cobbs. I don’t expect the Saints to just lay down but at the same time, with their season opener being first, I expect a lot less than we’ll see from some of the other teams where there are a lot more questions.

It’s the last rehearsal for Tennessee Titans head Coach Mike Muchak as he’s just a game away from his first NFL regular season game as an NFL Head Coach. Munchak has been around the game seemingly forever but next will still be a special one for him. Of course it would be more special for Munchak if he has Chris Johnson in uniform as the days to work out a new contract without missing games are getting fewer. As for this one expect to see Rusty Smith at QB with Herb Donaldson and Stefon Johkson carrying the ball. This is just going to be a typical week four game for the Titans.

While the Saints are the better team right now and have a lot better depth, the Titans aren’t nearly as bad as they played last season and look for them to have more enthusiasm here which is probably enough to get them a win under these circumstances.
