Toronto Blue Jays vs. Cleveland Indians
The Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians meet for game three of their three game series at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The Blue Jays are -125 favorites over the Indians with an over/under run total set at 8.5 runs.
The Toronto Blue Jays couldn’t build on their win on Monday as they took the loss on Tuesday night in a game they were never in. Yunel Escobar had two hits including a home run, Jose Bautista had three hits and scored a run, and Aaron Hill had two hits as the Blue Jays managed just three runs off of 10 hits. Brandon Morrow was throwing heat but he got knocked around as he allowed nine hits and six earned runs while striking out nine in five innings of work to take his third loss of the year. On Wednesday Night Toronto goes with Kyle Drabek who has lost his lost three decisions. For the season Drabek has allowed 59 hits and 29 earned runs while striking out 42 in 62.2 innings of work.
The Cleveland Indians still own the biggest lead of any division leader in Baseball but it shrinking down to five games from being nearly double digits. On Tuesday Michael Brantley and Carlos Santana had three hits each and Grady Sizemore added two hits and knocked in two runs as the Indians scored six runs on 12 hits. Starter Mitch Talbot allowed six hits and a run while striking out three over 6.2 innings of work to earn his second win of the year. For the series finale in the dome Cleveland starts Josh Tomlin who lost for just the second time in his last start. For the season Tomlin has allowed 49 hits and 29 earned runs while striking out 34 in 65.2 innings of work.
Toronto is 4-1 in their last five games overall, 4-1 in their last five against the AL Central, and 8-3 in Drabek’s last 11 starts. Cleveland is 2-5 in their last seven road games, 2-5 in their last seven against the AL East, and 9-3 in Tomlin’s last 12 starts. Cleveland is 7-2 in the last nine meetings of these two.
This looks like one for the pitchers and I look for the m to dominate here. At eight and a half, the total play looks to be the under.
