Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics return home looking to get one back on the Miami Heat in Game 3.  The Celtics are 3-point favorites over the Heat today with an over/under point total set at 183.

Lebron James scored 24 of his game high 35 points in the second half as the Heat pulled away to record a 102-91 win over the Celtics and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. James, who logged 44 minutes of action without a turnover, was the main catalyst in the Heat’s late 14-0 run to pull away from the Celtics for good. Dwayne Wade added 28 of his own, while Chris Bosh finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Heat. Rajon Rondo played through a bad back to score 20 points to go along with 12 assists, while Kevin Garnett added 16 for the Celtics who had the game tied at 80 with seven minutes remaining in the last quarter. The Celtics missed their next six shots and Miami pulled away, taking command of both the game and the series.

The Celtics are 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 games following a loss of more than 10 points, but just 8-17 against the spread in their last 25 Conference Semifinals games. The Heat on the other hand are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games and 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games overall. Head to head, the Celtics are 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings in Boston while the home team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings. The favorite is 15-6 against the spread in the last 21 meetings while the under id 15-6 in the last 21 in Boston.

There’s no doubt who has been the better team in the opening two games of this series. However, four days rest it a long time and I think it’s just what this veteran Celtics team needed. Boston showed in the regular season and for the majority of Game 2 they can hang with the Heat. Heading home and down two games, the Celtics get it done tonight.  Ill take the Celtics minus the three points here.
