Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat
The Miami Heat host the Chicago Bulls for game four with the Heat leading the series 2-1. The Heat are 5-point favorites over the Bulls with an over/under point total set at 180.
Chris Bosh was an unstoppable force for the Heat in game three scoring 34 points on 13-18 shooting to propel the Heat to an 11 point victory. LeBron James chipped in 22 and Dwyane Wade added 17 as Miami proved how lethal they could be when they bring defensive pressure while getting strong production out of their star players. The Heat will look for more of the same in game four, as their double teams on Derrick Rose proved extremely effective.
The Chicago Bulls have their backs against the wall and really need a scoring threat outside of Rose to open up the offense. The Bulls got a big night out of Carlos Boozer in game three with 27 points and 17 rebounds (7 offensive), but it’s within the realm of argument that Boozer negates a good deal of his contributions with lackluster defense. Joakim Noah found early foul trouble in game three as well before trading homophobic slurs with a fan, which also hurt the Bulls overall energy. The Bulls biggest strengths of fundamental defense and rebounding simply may not be enough to elevate them to victory while playing on the road.
I’m tempted to play zig zag and take the points after playing Miami last game but in doing so I’d really be banking on a Heat win by four or less as I really don’t see Chicago winning this one. The Heat defense has shown the ability to match Chicago’s defensive presence in the past two games, which makes Miami a dangerous team when the big names are producing. I’m taking the Miami Heat minus the 5 points in this pivotal game 5.
