Washington Wizards vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards look to finish the season off on a positive note when they collide tonight. The Cleveland Cavaliers are 5-point home favorites over the Washington Wizards. The over/under point total for the game is set at 209.

To say this season has been a disappointment for the Cavaliers would be a major understatement. The Cavs broke records for all the wrong reasons, losing an NBA record 26 consecutive games earlier in the season. However, as bad as they have been, a win tonight would ensure they don’t finish with the leagues worst record, that distinction goes the Minnesota Timberwolves.

It’s been an equally disappointing season for the Wizards, who will finish the regular season with the leagues fourth or fifth worst record. The Wizards have been decent at home this season; however going on the road has been a different story, winning just three of a possible 40 games away from home. The Wizards have played well in some meaningless games down the stretch, winning six of their last nine overall.

The Cavaliers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall, but they are just 7-20 against the spread in their last 27 games as a home favorite. The Wizards are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games overall, but just 11-25 against the spread in their last 36 road games.

Head to head, the Wizards are 7-3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings while the underdog is 10-3 against the spread in the last 13 meetings. The under is 19-9 in the last 28 meetings in Cleveland, however the over is 5-0 in the last five overall. I can’t imagine many people are too excited to see the Wizards face the Cavs tonight, in what is a meaningless game for both sides. The Cavs have been playing well lately, but so have the Wizards. With a trio of John Wall, Jordan Crawford and Andray Blatche, I think the Wizards keep this one close enough to cover as 5-point underdogs.
