Chicago Bulls vs. New York Knicks

Two red-hot teams collide on Monday night when the New York Knicks host Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls.  The Chicago Bulls are 4-point favorites over the New York Knicks with the over/under point total set at 191.

The Knicks are getting hot at just the right time of the season as they are currently riding a seven game winning streak coming into tonight’s showdown with the Bulls. With a win tonight or a Philadelphia loss, the Knicks can clinch the sixth seed in the East. They do own the tiebreaker with the 76ers but have a much tougher remaining schedule, having to travel to Boston in their final regular season game.

The East leading Bulls are also riding a seven game winning streak heading into tonights match, and they currently sit one game back of West leading San Antonio for home court advantage throughout the playoffs. Coach Tom Thibodeau has stated he wants his team to make a run for the leagues best record and he won’t rest his starters in the final couple of games.

The Knicks are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games overall and 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning record. The Bulls on the other hand are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 road games and 17-7 against the spread in their last 24 vs. Eastern Conference.

Head to head, the Knicks are 7-3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings and 5-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings in New York. The under is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings and 6-1 in the last seven in New York. While the Knicks have certainly been impressive in the last two weeks, the Bulls have been playing at that level for the whole season and they are 19-2 in their last 21 overall. With the Bulls finally at full strength and chasing that number one overall seed, I like Derrick Rose and the Bulls to get the win and ultimately the cover.
