Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are 4-point home favorites this Sunday afternoon against the Philadelphia 76ers.  The over/under total for the game is set at 208.  The Philadelphia 76ers have the leagues best record verse the spread at 32-17 in their first 49 games this year.  In their last nine games since January 19th, the 76ers are 7-2 against the spread.

Philadelphia is beginning a tough stretch of games including four games in the next six days.  After todays game at New York, Philadelphia travels to play Atlanta on Tuesday, the return home for two more tough games against the Orlando Magic and the San Antonio Spurs.  This tough schedule makes this game even more important for the Philadelphia 76ers.

New York has the 2nd best record verse the spread right behind the 76ers.  The New York Knicks are 31-18 against the spread this year in their first 49 games this year.  In the Knicks last nine games; they are 6-3 against the spread since January 21.

Philadelphia has owned the New York Knicks in recent history.  The 76ers are 7-3 against the Knicks in their last 10 overall.  Against the spread, each team has covered 5 times in the last 10.  A key stat to consider for this game is the der cashed in 8 of their last 10 games.

These teams played as recently as Friday with the 76ers squeaking out a 2-point victory.  The 76ers failed to cover as a 4-point home favorite in the game.  With these teams just playing two days ago, and with the recent trend of the game going der, I will certainly make a strong play on the der. Also, I will take the Knicks at home.  Fr those who watched the game on Friday, the Knicks really were the better team for the most part, losing a big lead in the 4th quarter.  At home, the Knicks will be hungry to erase those recent memories.  Im taking he Knicks minus the 4-points.
