Miami Heat vs. Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic is listed as 2-point favorites against the Miami Heat in this blockbuster match up.  The over/under total for the game is 197.  The Miami Heat leads the Southeast Division over the Orlando Magic by 3.5 games.

The Miami Heat are 34-14 this season and 23-25 against the spread.  The Heat beat Oklahoma City on Sunday 108-103 this past Sunday as a 1-point road underdog.  They followed up that impressive victory by crushing the Cleveland Cavs 117-90 as an 18-point home favorite.  Lebron James and Dwayne Wade are each averaging 26 points per game.  James leads the team in assists with 7.3 per game.  Chris Bosh leads the Heat in rebounds with 8.2 per game.  Miami is averaging 101.7 points a game while only giving up just 93.9 points per game.  The Heat have the third best shooting percentage in the league at 47.1 percent and are the 7th best team from three-point land at 37.9 percent.

The Orlando Magic has won just twice in their last five games.  The Magic are coming off a 100-97 loss to Memphis on Monday as 1.5-point favorite.  Last Friday they were a 1 ½-point road favorite against Chicago, but fell 99-90.  The last time they beat a team with a winning record was a 117-107 victory over Dallas as a 5 ½-point road favorite on Jan.8.  Orlando finds itself at 31-18 overall and 21-28 against the spread.  Dwight Howard leads the team in scoring with 22.4 points per game and is 2nd in the league in rebounds with 13.6 per game.

Head-to-head, they split their first two meetings this season with the Heat winning 96-70 on October 29th as a four-point home favorite and the Magic returning the favor with a 104-95 victory as a four-point home favorite on Nov. 24. The total split as well on identical 188-point lines.

I am going to take the Miami Heat plus the points in this affair.  I believe the Miami Heat have the momentum coming into the game.  The Orlando Magic have been in a recent funk and the Heat will look to take advantage of that.
