Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics

The Miami Heat is 2-point favorites this afternoon when they travel to Boston to take on the Celtics.  The over/under for the game is set at 189.  This game could possibly be a preview of this years Eastern Conference Finals.

The Celtics got beat at home Thursday night by the Lakers 92-86, scoring just 33 points in the second half, and have now lost three of their last four games. Los Angeles spoiled Ray Allens 20-point performance as the sure fire Hall of Famer set the all-time record for three-point shots surpassing Reggie Millers all-time trey record of 2,560 by two. Allen seems to be having one of his best seasons at age 35 and his 46 percent three-point pace this year is by far a career high.

The Miami Heat are heating up, and pushed their win streak to eight to move into sole possession of first place in the East with a 106-92 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. Dwyane Wade scored 24 points and LeBron James added 16 points and 10 assists.

The Celtics and Heat met twice earlier this season, and Boston won both games.  Opening night, the Celtics beat the Heat 88-80.  Two weeks later in Miami, Boston beat Miami again 112-107.  The Heat was still trying to find their chemistry early on in the season and is not the same team that is playing now.  The Heat leads the league in defensive field goal percentage holding teams to under 43 percent.  Meanwhile, offensively they are second in the league in field goal percentage shooting better than 47 percent from the field.

The Miami Heat will be fired up for this game after losing to the Celtics twice already.  I feel it will be a statement game for Miami and that Miami will win the game quite easily.  I will take Miami minus the two points.  I will also take the er because I believe their will be a lot of garbage time at the end of the game, which will lead to a lot of extra points being scored.  Therefore, I will wagering er 189.
