Los Angeles Lakers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Los Angeles Lakers are 11-point road underdogs against the Cleveland Cavaliers.  The over/under total for the game is set at 204.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are 9-46 on the year and 20-35 against the spread.  They last played on Sunday evening losing to the Washington Wizards 115-100 as 3-point home underdogs. The game wasn’t as close as the final 15-point gap might indicate.  Nick Young scored 31 for the Wizards on 14-of-21 shooting from the field; John Wall contributed 19 points and 14 assists.

The Los Angeles Lakers are 38-18 overall and 25-31 against the spread.  They are in the midst of a seven game road trip with tonights game being the last.  The Lakers won their first four games of the road trip but have lost their last two.  The lost their last game to the Bobcats by 20 points, which was their worst defeat of the year. They could easily turn that around, and then some, against a Cavs team they routed earlier this season by 55.  The Lakers rocked Cleveland on Jan. 11 at Staples Center, 112-57, LA’s largest margin of victory in 39 years.  Phil Jackson’s squad peppered the Cavs with 46 field goals, 10 from three-point land, while suffocating Cleveland on defense, limiting Cleveland to just 23 field goals and 1-for-14 from beyond 3-point range.

The last seven games in this match-up have all gone er the total in Cleveland.  The Lakers last six games on the road trip the der is 4-2.  Tonights game is the last game for both teams before the All-Star break.

I believe that the Lakers will give great effort after their poor performance against the Bobcats, which only spells trouble for the Cavs.  Look for the Lakers to easily cover the 11-point spread in this one.  The Cavs will have a tough time scoring verse the Lakers intense defense.  Although the last seven games in Cleveland have gone er, I believe tonights game will be different and will be wagering on the der:
