Portland Trailblazers vs. New York Knicks

On Tuesday, January 11th the Portland Trailblazers are listed as a 3-point favorite over the visiting New York Knicks.  The New York Knicks this year have been a sports bettors delight covering the spread over 65% of the time. The New York Knicks are coming off a defeat in their last game to the Los Angeles Lakers and should be fully prepared and motivated against the Portland Trailblazers. The first half of the seasons most valuable player Amare Stoudamire leads the New York Knicks.  Stoudamire is averaging over 26 points per game and 9 rebounds.

The Portland Trailblazers have been playing teams tough with Brandon Roy out due to injury.  They last played Sunday evening and lost a hard-fought battle to the Miami Heat in overtime. The Portland Trailblazers only play a nine-man rotation and their starters have recently logged a lot of minutes.  I expect Portland to be worn out and tired off their tough overtime loss to the Miami Heat. With Roy out indefinitely for the Portland Trailblazers; and the New York Knicks riding the momentum of their early season success I feel the New York Knicks are a strong bet in this spot.

The over/under total is set for 202.5.  I like the over in this game due to the fact that both teams are quite worn out.  The New York Knicks are on there 3rd game of their west coast road trip and as previously mentioned the Portland Trailblazers starting five have been logging a lot of minutes.  I fully expect the defense to be at least one-step behind the offense and lots of points to be scored.
