Pittsburgh Panthers vs. Georgetown Hoyas

Tonights betting card includes this Big East blockbuster match-up between the #5 team in the country the Pittsburgh Panthers and the #22 Georgetown Hoyas. Georgetown is coming into this game losing three of their last four games. Despite that, the odds-makers have installed Georgetown as a 3-point home favorite against Pittsburgh. The total for the game is 143.

Georgetown, who holds an overall record of 12-4 is only 9-6 against the spread, while Pittsburgh is 15-1 and 4-7 against the spread. The Pittsburgh Panthers early season success has been due mainly to their offensive production. They are averaging 81.2 points per game and are shooting 49.3% from the field.

Georgetown has been struggling due to their lack of defensive intensity. They are not a great rebounding team as well, which does not bode well for them against Pittsburgh. Georgetown should be able to put some points on the board though. Austin Freeman who averages over 17 points per game leads them.

Revenge may also play a part in this game. Last season Georgetown won at Pittsburgh ending Pittsburgh 31 game home-court win streak. With Georgetown struggling and Pittsburghs added incentive to win this game my selection is to take the three points and bet on the Pittsburgh Panthers. Also, I would play the over as I expect both teams to score at least 70 points. For this game I am making three plays. In addition to taking the over and the Pittsburgh Panthers, I am also looking to parlay that action.
