Orlando Magic vs. New Orleans Hornets

The bookmakers have made the Orlando Magic a 3.5-point favorite on the road against the New Orleans Hornets.  The total for this game is set at 190.  Sports Bettors. who have been riding the Orlando Magic have not made money this season.  Although the Orlando Magic has a 25-12 straight up record, their record against the spread is a measly 17-20.  This record against the spread is a little misleading right now due to the fact that Orlando has won 8 of their last nine games against the spread, making them one of my favorite teams to wager on in the past three weeks.

Orlando only plays an 8-man rotation, meaning that towards the end of the game their players get tired and begin to struggle defensively.  This may be why the over has hit in Orlandos last three road games.

The New Orleans Hornets started the season surprising everyone winning eleven of their first twelve games.  Since then they have come back to reality winning just eleven of their next twenty-six games.  The New Orleans Hornets rank 2nd in total defense giving up an average of 92.2 points per game.  Offensively they are not as proficient, where they are ranked 27th in the league scoring 94 points per game.

My wagers for this game would be taking the Orlando Magic minus the 3 points and also taking the over of 190.  The Orlando Magic bench should have a big scoring advantage of the New Orleans Hornets bench.  If Dwight Howard can stay out of foul trouble this game may not even be that close.
