Mississippi St. Bulldogs at Ole Miss Rebels

Sportsbook.com has made Ole Miss a 12-point home favorite with the total set at 145. Both teams are looking for their first conference win in early SEC play. Mississippi St. started the season with four straight wins but is only now 8-7 on the season. They have been horrible against the spread winning just once and losing ten times. It is very rare that you see a team with a record that bad against the spread. Ole Miss however has started the season very well going 12-4, and 7-5 against the spread.

Ravern Johnson, who leads the team in scoring with over 19 points per game, leads Mississippi St. Kodi Augustus is the leading rebounder with 8.3 per game. Mississippi St. averages 68 points per game and shoots at a 41.1 percent clip.

Ole Miss opened its SEC play losing 77-71 to Florida last Saturday as an 8-point underdog covering the spread. Prior to that defeat, the Ole Miss Rebels had won nine of their past ten games. Chris Warren leads the Ole Miss Bulldogs averaging 18.6 points and 4.3 assists. Ole Miss is averaging 78 points per game and shoots 47.5 percent from the field.

Mississippi St. is 4-2 against the spread in their last six meetings. Despite that stat, I am still going to wager on the home team, the Ole Miss Bulldogs minus the12 points. I am going to lay off the total as I feel the score will hover right around that 145 mark.
