Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets

The Miami Heat had not lost in 2011 until last night when the lowly Los Angeles Clippers upset them.  The Denver Nuggets are coming into the match-up losing three of their last four games.  Odds-makers have set the line as Miami being a 4-point road favorite with the total set at 205.5.

The Miami Heat are 13-8 against the spread in their first 21 road games, with the der cashing in twelve of those.  Miami is coming into the game with no rest after playing in Los Angeles yesterday.  Miami is 5-4 against the spread in the second game of its nine back-to-back games.  The er has gone 5-4 in those games.

Denver ended a three-game losing streak in their last game beating the Phoenix Suns 132-98.  Aaron Afflalo scored 31 and Carmelo Anthony scored 28 against Phoenix.  Denver has only covered the spread in seven of their first twenty home games, with the er winning in twelve of those.

This will be the first meeting between Denver and Miami this season.  Past history of these two teams are irrelevant due to the complete makeover of the Miami Heat roster.  I personally believe that the Miami Heat are a strong play in this game due to the fact that they lost last evening and will want to get that poor performance out of the way.  Their is also rumors swirling that both Carmelo  Anthony and Chauncey Billups being traded to New Jersey.  This trade speculation cannot be good for team morale. In this game my only play is the Miami Heat -4 over the home Denver Nuggets.
