Indiana Pacers vs. Portland Trailblazers

The Portland Trailblazers are a 6-point home favorite when they take on the visiting Indiana Pacers on Saturday evening.  The over/under total is set at 194 for this game.  The Pacers will be attempting to snap a three-game losing streak to a team in the Portland Trailblazers that is on a four-game winning streak.

Indianas first game of the road trip was a 114-107 loss to the LA Clippers as a three-point road underdog.  The total points of 221 went way above the 199 point closing total.  The Pacers poor play continued Wednesday with the Pacers losing 110-108 to the Golden St. Warriors, covering the spread as five-point road underdog.  Though the combined 218 points went er once again, the der is 26-13 in Indianas first 39 games.  These two losses lowered Indianas road record to 6-13 and 8-11 against the spread.  The Indiana Pacers rank 19th offensively overall, averaging 93.7 points per game.  They are a poor 28th in field goal percentage, hitting just 43.3 percent of their shots.  Indiana is allowing 98.3 points per game, which is 14th in the league.  The Pacers do hold their opponents to 43.9 percent from the field, which ranks them, 4th.

Portland won its fourth straight game on Thursday evening beating the LA Clippers 108-93 as a 3-pont home favorite.  The Trailblazers are 15-5 at home and 12-8 against the spread at home.  They outscore their opponents by an average of six points per game.  The der is 23-21 in Portlands first 44 games this year.  Marcus Camby will be out for the Trailblazers as he has elected to undergo surgery on a partial tear of the meniscus in his left knee and will be out for around five weeks.  This, along with Brandon Roy still sidelined with a knee injury will have a major impact on the short-term success of the Blazers.

The Pacers and Trailblazers have not met this season, but Indiana is 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games.  However, Portland has won the last four match-ups.  I am leaning towards take the under as both teams are very underrated defensively and am also going to take the hot-team in the Portland Trailblazers.  Despite their multiple injuries, this team has stuck together and persevered all season.
