Australian Open Day 14 Preview and Picks

Last night, as predicted Kim Clijsters won her first Australian Open title and her fourth Grand Slam in taking out Na Li in 3-sets.  Our record for the tournament now stands at a satisfying 25-8.  Tonight, is the final day of the tournament and pits worlds #3 Novak Djokovic against world #4 Andy Murray in the mens final.  Make sure to place your bets on what could be an epic final at BetUS.

Novak Djokovic -170 vs. Andy Murray +135

This may not be Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal, and it may not be even one of the two, but this is still a blockbuster Grand Slam final. Who has the edge? Novak Djokovic is playing slightly better tennis, having taken out both Roger Federer and Tomas Berdych in straight sets, and he also holds a major title winning the Australian Open in 2008.  Andy Murray, although he trails the overall head-to-head series 4-3, has defeated Novak Djokovic three straight times, and all in straight sets.  Novak Djokovic looked outstanding against Roger Federer and should feel very fresh going into the final. Murray started very slowly during his semifinal, and may be a little bit weary after a long, physical battle with David Ferrer.  Novak Djokovic is riding high with a recent Davis Cup triumph and a revamped serve.  Ultimately, the difference will be that Novak Djokovic knows how to win a slam. The Serb has been in this position before, and after a three-year long drought, he seems poised to take his second major crown. Although, I believe this will be a very tough match played in the Australian evening heat, I will go with Novak Djokovic -170 to win in four-sets and raise the championship trophy.
