Kim Clijsters -300 vs. Na Li +220
The 2011 Australian Open Womens final will bring many tennis fans together to see if Na Li of China will make history when she goes up against heavy favorite Kim Clijsters. Na Li has already made history by getting to the finals as the first Asian player to play for a Grand Slam title. On Thursday, Na Li defeated #1 seed Caroline Wozniacki in 3-sets after losing the first and facing a match point in the 2nd set. In order to make further history and win the title, Na Li will have to defeat three-time US Open Champion Kim Clijsters who beat Vera Zvonareva in straight sets in her semifinal match. Kim Clijsters, also reached the finals of the Australian Open back in 2004, when she lost to Justine Henin. With Serena Williams out of the tournament due to a foot injury, Kim Clijsters has been the favorite from the start. The last time these two met was in the Sydney final a little over two weeks ago. Na Li won that match surprisingly in 2-sets. However, Clijsters holds a 4-2 record overall in their matches. The two have met in two prior Grand Slams, with Clijsters taking straight-set wins in the 2009 U.S. Open and 2006 Wimbledon. Although, Na Li is a perfect 11-0 in 2011 and had just beaten Clijsters, I have a tough time believing that Na Li can win. In fact, I am going to pick Clijsters in straight sets to win her first Australian Open.
