Mavs vs Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs will face conference and interstate rivals the Dallas Mavericks who might just have to show up on the court without the teams star player Derk Nowitzki.

The Spurs are coming off of  a tremendous game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Spurs, according to their win/loss record  are currently  the best team in the NBA closely followed by the Boston Celtic’s. The Mavericks are 24 and 6 while the Spurs are 27 and 4 but the Spurs are playing great basketball right now and as far as I’m concerned are the team to beat.

The San Antonio Spurs broke down the Lakers in superior fashion and this is one of four match ups between these two rivals with the Spurs 1 Lakers 0. Up next is cross town rival Dallas who did defeat the Spurs breaking the Spurs 12 game winning streak defeating the Spurs by 9 points, 103-94 Mavericks. The San Antonio Spurs will be heading east starting Jan 4 to face the New York Knicks and then on the 5 to face the beast of the east Boston Celtic’s and wrap up with a game against the Indiana Pacers. With the season more then 1/3 in the books it looks like the Spurs are the team to beat but we will wait and see.

They must get by the Mavericks who lost recently but tend to play a real good game  after a team beats them. A good team like the Lakers they have a tendency to not play as well even against weaker opponents however the Spurs coaching staff is great I say that San Antonio will defeat the Mavs by 10 or more.

On the eastern swing when the Spurs face the Knicks the Spurs by 11 and facing the Boston Celtic’s it is even Boston by 2 and facing the Indiana Pacers the Spurs by 13. So I say on the Eastern road trip San Antonio will go 2-1.
