Who Will Win the NFC?
Early in the season, the NFC was looking quite a bit weaker than the AFC. However, in recent weeks, the NFC has seen a few teams emerge and now the conferences look a bit closer. Some expected contenders have fallen by the wayside, while others have emerged. At the moment, it would appear there are five teams that could win the NFC and head to the Super Bowl in Dallas. Those teams are the Atlanta Falcons, the Green Bay Packers, the New Orleans Saints, the New York Giants, and the Philadelphia Eagles. So, which team is going to the Super Bowl?
Unlike in the AFC, where all the contenders are bunched together, things are a bit more tiered in the NFC. The Packers, Saints, and Eagles are on a slightly lower tier than the Falcons and the Giants. If the Packers weren’t so banged up, they’d probably be on that higher tier, but the loss of so many key players, such as starting running back Ryan Grant and starting tight end Jermichael Finley, knocks them down a notch. The Saints, the defending champions, are only starting to get into the swing of things. The Eagles haven’t really had much in the way of problems. They just aren’t quite as good as the Giants or Falcons.
Quite frankly, the Falcons and Giants might not be on the same tier either. The Giants are looking really good right now. After a slow start, their defense has been outstanding, and no team has a receiving corps are good as New York’s. Plus, they have a good running back pair as well, and Eli Manning has quarterbacked a Super Bowl winner already. The Giants are the favorite on Sportsbook right now, and that’s probably not going to change. The Giants seem to be the best team in the NFC.
