Who is the NFL’s Worst Team?
The race for the top pick in the 2011 NFL Draft is a good one this season. Of course, the teams in the battle aren’t enjoying it, because the top pick means the worst record in the league. There are a few legitimate contenders at this point, but who is going to end up at the bottom of the league?
Even though the Detroit Lions don’t have a very good record, they aren’t likely to finish with the worst record. They have played really well this season, and are a couple of bad breaks away from a respectable record. The same goes for the Cincinnati Bengals, the Denver Broncos, and the San Francisco 49ers. In particular, the Niners play in such an easy division a couple more wins seems likely.
That leaves the Buffalo Bills, the Carolina Panthers, and the Dallas Cowboys, the last of which was expected to be a Super Bowl contender this season. Despite their awful play, they have too much talent finish on the bottom of the league, and maybe the firing of Wade Phillips will help. The Bills and the Panthers are so bad Sportsbook doesn’t even have odds on them winning their division anymore. However, the Panthers are a mess at quarterback and have injury issues with their running backs, whereas the Bills have the decent Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Stevie Johnson has emerged at wide receiver. That will make the difference, and the Panthers will finish with the worst record in the NFL.
